Lightworks Water

I dont know if anyone else has been struglling with this, but it is driving me bloody insane! Has anyone managed to get decent looking water in LW. I have tried manipulating the standard .lwa file, tried wrapped bump mapping, adding reflections, refractions, colour and I cannot get realistic looking water. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated! Just post your images of water in renderings along with the LW settings. I will post an image of my water when I get to a stage where I am getting closer to decent images, at the moment I am a long way off!!

Cheers

Thanks for helping a fellow kiwi out! I was reading back through a few posts about getting sky reflections in windows when you use the LW background render, so I tried applying this to water and it worked out ok. Still needs a bit of work to roughen it up. I am looking for a farily sketchy feel to the finished render. But I am just trying Dwights water settings now, which will probably look infinitely better than mine! Will post the result tomorrow.

Cheers Stuart

Here is the image using Dwights water. Not sure why the slab around the water's edge has become so saturated, but the rest of the water looks good. What do u think?

Hello Bryan,

I have been reading this forum for many months now, but among these smart people like Dwight, I never felt that I could add anything to the conversation.
But I did some testing on the water subject a few months ago, when I started to play around with the lightworks engine.
Here is what I came up with. See the attached picture. I used textures for these, but I can post those too, if you are interested. I saved all the settings, and the pln file, so it can be reproduced. Of course, every scene is different, so a little tweaking will be needed when you use these settings, but it should be a good start.

I will post a scene where I used one of these settings.

This was my first render with Lightworks, back in February.
I moved on to Cinema 4d right after that.
