all of those images had hundreds of hours in them. just making the model and custom making most of the materials.
but once you start to make all of your materials yourself, you can re-use them. so it gets faster.
to do a 3D section like this i did it with the "cut 3D planes tool"
then used the light works rendering engine like any other render.
use the help menu inside ArchiCAD to find "3D Cutaway" and how to use it

It uses the 3d document feature to produce an exploded axonometric.

Not all my design ... Some of it is presentation work only, like the Qatar airways lounge.
Yep, Piranesi. Pre 1995 was done in 3D Studio 2 or 3, the second (sports hall, my design that maybe even got built) in AccuRender ... modeled in AutoCAD
