Sketch Rendering style.........VERY SLOW...WTH happened?

I'm not sure but now....when I try to do a "sketch" rendering....it's taking for ever to render something that used to take seconds.

I used to use the "Kohn-nor" technique with small minor adjustments on the lines, shawdow, thickness, distortion..etc...but now...it appears this "sketch" technique takes forever?

it doesn't want to finish the rendering?
what gives here folks?

I suspect that 3D has a high polygon count because of all those tree leaves. When you turn on shadows, it tries to generate all those shadows of all those leaves, which increases rendering time dramatically.

OK...I'll try to render tomorrow "without" the trees turned on ......see if that helps.
thank you.

Rob,
You can turn off the shadow casting for the trees within the settings for the trees if they are standard ArchiCAD trees.

If you need the shadows from the trees on the ground etc you could render a view with a simplified version of the trees and then composite the two images in Photoshop (or if on a Mac Pixelmator)

I'll try to turn off the "shadow casting" on the tree objects themselves.
then I'll try creating the sketch without the trees all together....I'm not sure what changed but before.....the sketch render technique used to take seconds....now it's hoggin'.

again....I used to use this "sketch" technique quite often....now I can't seem to get sketches with or without trees...nor can't even seem to finish ONE sketch image.
somethings not right here.

here are my "sketch" settings by the way.
I can't seem to figure out WTF is causing the sketch NOT to render quickly....
