License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Surfaces - how to adjust/modify their properties to get a different (lighter) surface

I need to adjust/create a new/duplicate a surface texture similar to one in the LCF file in Archicad 22.

How?
see attached.

You could try opening the Attribute Manager and extract the surface to an .att file and then import it with another name. Then look if it is embedded with the file. Didn't try it, but I think it could do the trick.
Hope that helps.

If that doesn't work, then you will have to extract (expand/unzip) the LCF.
FILE menu > Libraries & Objects > Extract a Container.

Then you can find the individual files.

do you "extract" "unzip" the container file from within/thru Archicad?
Cause I'm not sure you unzip an LCF file? No?

Also..when you "extract" the LCF, it wont trash the original LCF will it?

Barry...so I just extracted the "Surface" LCF into a folder so I can pluck the texture, modify it and bring it into Archicad but....the file is a "Library Part File"? not a JPG or TIFF. How the heck do I modify a "Library Part File"? What kind of photoeditor modifys a library part file?

thanks

If it is the Archicad surface catalogue, then you should find a folder for textures.

The GSM (library parts) are for creating new surfaces in the surface settings.
The "new from catalogue" command gets all of the settings from these GSM files.

From the Load Image from Library dialogue, click on the Library Manager button (next to Add).
Then you need to find the image from the library - need to find the same path.
Select it in the Library Manager, and in the bottom right hard corner, there's an icon to export the image.
I think that's easier.
