Hi

I have rendered this in Lightworks and would like some advice on how to improve this render.
It will ultimately become a billboard on site. It is still missing some louvers on those balconies and i will eventually photoshop it into the site, so ignore the pavement and the road.

For example how would I be able to get an environment into the windows facing the street? I usually do this in photoshop manually but maybe there is an answer?

I agree with what you are saying about those software people (no disrespect..) but luckily it will be up high above a hording on site 1mx2m in size so i hope you won't be able to see them.

I also agree what you guys said about the shadows and sun etc. but i had bad luck with the weather on the day i took the sitephotos. I have attached it so you can see what i had to use for this.... unfortunately London is not famous for its long sunny days.

The reason why this is a landmark for me is because i am used to using FormZ or 3Dmax for rendering, and i wanted to see what i could achieve with AC. What LW lacks in quality it makes up in ease of use and speed.
I will use only LW from now on.

I do wish one would be able to save different LW setup preferences...

With that photo you've done well. I spent 8 years in London, '89 was a good summer, then they got steadily worse every year that followed, so I can understand what you're up against.

That background photo is no problem at all - you can easily drop in a nice sky. The fact that Britain is made from finely detailed buildings ruined by the hrashness of a sunny day, when you do take a photo on a cloudy day, the context has a better chance of looking the same as your rendering, because renderings tend to have more detail than context photos.

Now that I actually see the image you refer to, it having appeared on a prior page that the one I saw intially, this image is a great start, but the overhanging shadow is a bit ominous.

beautiful glass - how do you get the deep blue?

try putiing a full power general light into the shot with a start and end light intensity matching the overhanging shadow distance. golden color.
