Texture mapping incorrectly

Originally, I was able to map a MURAL to 3 walls and all looked well..

After copying and placing copies onto individual DESIGN OPTIONS, and changing the mural... they started appearing UPSIDE DOWN..

  1. Tried simply rotating 180 in the material editor... no difference.
  2. Tried resetting the Align 3d Texture... no difference
  3. After resetting, tried typing in 180 in the texture direction... no difference.
  4. Tried ROTATING the image 180 in WINDOWS (ROTATE from a directory window)...
    1. While the PREVIEW of the image itself showed rotated AND opening in image viewer showed rotated,
    2. Placing into material show the original rotation.
    3. And the 3d window still showed upside down.
  5. Finally tried rotating IN PHOTOSHOP and saving a new version...
    1. This seemed to show UPSIDE DOWN in the material editor (which is what I needed)
    2. AND showed correctly in the 3d Window...
  6. Until I went to ENSCAPE... and it's turned upside again....

Any solutions for this predicament?

Obviously it's not ideal to walk around the model with and upside mural in ArchiCAD

Can you post your Archicad version, and also, one or two screenshots of the issue, maybe the relevant settings as well?

Can you also try this in a brand new project started from your default Template to see if the issue is still there? That would clarify whether the problem is file-specific or not.

Hi Laszlo,

I'm now thinking this occurred because the STARTER Material had previously been altered for ENSCAPE...

Then duplicated to start this material

When I created the same material, but started from one that was basic (not altered, no texture map)... it seems to work as expected...

Is it possible to create a material from SCRATCH?  with no previous material to duplicate?

The only way in the Surfaces Dialog besides duplication is by loading a Surface from the Surface Catalog.

Or, you can import the Surface from another file.

Or, you can script a MASTER_GDL_... file and define the Surface there with the DEFINE MATERIAL command. That would be like creating one from scratch. Then, once the MASTER_GDL_... file is executed once and the Surface is created, you can even remove the MASTER_GDL_... file from your libraries.

can not replicate with design options + custom surface in archicad...
can you provide more clear step by step how you are creating the initial surface, aligning, what element types it's placed on, as a surface override or bMat surface, and how you are copying to different design options?
created a quick surface, aligned to wall corner, copy/pasted and relinked design option, still shows with correct alignemtn/rotation
