Textures in Lightworks

I did the attached rendering in Lightworks. The material on the exterior walls is 6" siding which doesn't show. In the regular 3d rendering it shows as siding. Any suggestions

Exactly which material are you using?
Is there a texture image referenced in the material?
Is the texture image in the active library?

Is the LightWorks material matched to the ArchiCAD material?

That is a good problem.

You may need to activate the alpha channel and re-match materials.

And in LightWorks, use the gradient background rather than that hideous too-much-magenta photo background.

How do you activate the alpha channel?

Thanks Dwight,
I had one of the settings wrong. I'll have to buy your book. Will it be relevant to AC 10?

Thank you.

The "LightWorks in ArchiCAD" book is extremely relevant to ArchiCAD 10, especially since I am writing a supplement - available soon after ArchiCAD 10 actually ships, just to be certain that the things I've seen in the Beta actually make it to the final product. Many of the new features were implemented at the last minute.

The supplement addresses the significant changes to the LightWorks rendering engine, and will be free to all registered users of the book. It will be a download and may include some material fixes and additional tricks to motivate those stubborn few who haven't yet coughed-up for my great book.

You still need the book, however, since it really tells you how to operate in a realistic production environment to create and manage LightWorks renderings including many Photoshop tricks. The supplement is just a bunch of inserts.

Order your copy from me today: see below for ordering instructions or write to the info.beginnernomore@telus.net address for more information.

Hi Dwight!, never got the chance to shake your hand after the fantastic seminar you gave in Oakland. The book is absolutely great. I've honestly read about 3 to 4 chapters and my renderings have improved 20 times more. Could be better, that is why I am hungry to finish your book the second I get that free time. I bought the book during the seminar, will we be informed about your supplement release? I'd definitely want to be updated since I might be using AC 10 soon.

You shouldv'e seen the big grin I had on my face when I produced my first rendering using your lighting techniques...and that was lighting alone! I can't wait to step deeper into the realm of 'material modifications'...which is also in your book. Thanks Dwight!

Thank you for your kind comments. Many other satisfied readers have sent similar messages.

However, a twenty times rendering quality improvement is impressive. The highest reported rendering improvement I heard of before was 17.2x, so this is great!

A link to the supplement will be e-mailed to all registered owners of the book. Since there are significant changes to the LightWorks rendering engine, this is a great time to own "LightWorks in ArchiCAD."

Please note that the only way to get the supplement is to purchase the "LightWorks in ArchiCAD" book. Ordering information through PAYPAL is below.

Order today to be ready for excellent rendering with ArchiCAD 10.

Dwight,

Since I now understand you are allowed to disclose information about AC 10 could you elaborate a little on significant changes. My renderings only improved about 13.7 times although it is a little hard to quantify sometimes.
