changing the background of 3d environment without render?

Hello
how can i change the background of 3d environment from white into 2 colored one plane and one sky like sketchup
so i can see it close to reality when i click show 3d
i need this without have to render because this can give me more ability to imagine in reality like sketchup
there must be solution for this great programme

Save your 3d view as a 3d document, you can then add a gradient fill as a sky in the 3d document view.

See below. I've also used the round slab trick. No rendering, just a 3d document view with vectorial hatching and shaded materials option turned on.

Thank you for your replies.

I have been able to create a gradient fill in a 3D document however the result is a poor looking building compared to the 3D view in which the building looks quite good.

The downside with the 3D view is that I can not put the sky gradient in or the earth Gradient in.

The other problem with the radial Gradient for the earth is that I can not make the circular pattern of the gradient oval to create a 3D look.

I am still interested in how the gradient fill was applied to a slab. This would be very useful.

I have been trying to post a picture of the building in the 3D view however I keep getting this error.
