curtain wall appears as mirror

Help,

I modeled a building in archicad 10 with a curtain wall facade, but when I try to render it, a lare portion of the curtain wall acts as a gigantic mirror.

What's wrong and how can I fix this.

I hope someone can help me.

It will be the Reflectance Shader in the material.

Open it up - see the mirror factor.

Adjust to suit.

I thought of that Dwight, I tried to change it already. I even turned it off all the way, but the result was still the same

Thanks anyway, got any other ideas?

hi try turning off the camera light in lightworks settings. i found glass surfaces reflecting to almost white once & it went away after i turned off the camera light.
Of course it'll change the light quality in the render then.

Good call.
Should have thought of that lousy camera light before.
Even though one Archicad colleague uses the camera light to create chrome highlights, it is a useless camera-flash-in-a-bar-where-everyone's-eyes-are-covered-in-the-magazine-with-a-black-stripe kind of light.

There is, however, an Archicad Camera Light Enthusiast's Group.
Here's their picture.

Hi Dwight,
actually I found it a little useful for exterior renderings, you know when the sun is very hard & shadows quite dark. almost seems like the way the eye adjusts aperture when focusing on a dark area surronded by light areas. sort of like having a light reading of a point applied to the entire frame. it does wash everything with light just like using a flash in daytime, but i found that the colors pick up a little because of this.
Usually I set the lights first & then modify the materials & for exteriors the camera light comes in handy for quick renders.
what do you think?
