rivets in texture mapping..

Is there an easy way to place the (rivets / bolts) as shown in the image, whether using texture mapping or modeling? (the rivets in the attached image were painted in Photoshop)
I couldn’t find an easy way of doing it, mainly because the material would have different surface angles, so a simple surface texture with the rivets painted on it wouldn’t map correctly (whether with AC or Artlantis)

If the view is as distant as the one you show (interesting wall BTW), would someone notice that the rivet/bolt angle was slightly off? If not, then, of course, make an exact texture map for each uniquely shaped surface (it appear you have 1x1 surface and 1x2 surface [rotate for 2x1] in your image). Make two materials, assign them to the surfaces, use align (or orient) texture in 3D as needed if alignment isn't right.

If the bolts really need to look like bolts, then Piranesi 4 could be the way to go over Photoshop, since Pir 4 allows 3D cutouts. Create the bolt, save as 3ds or dwg, bring into Pir 4 as a cutout, and snap it onto the planes, then tell Pir to cast shadows as needed. Looks like a lot of bolts to me, though...

Most accurate would be to model the faces in GDL with the bolts, and add appropriate ROT statements and params and snap these to the surfaces of your cubes/rects. Perfect alignment could be tedious. You can do this with almost no GDL coding by creating a surface with the four corner bolts flat on the ground, saving it as an object, then just adding the ROT commands and parameters.

Probably lots of other ideas...?
