simple sketchy plan rendering

I'm new to rendering in archicad, and am a little overwhelmed with the choices of add-ons and additional graphics programs.

So, my question is: What is the simplest way to create nice sketchy (sketchup like) views of 3d model and 2d plans in archicad 11? Also, does 12 have any better options than 11?

(The sketch rendering engine seems okay for 3D model views, but I also need 2d plan views. Someone recommended archisketchy -but I'm not sold on it.)

IT is a weak hack compared to ArchiSketchy that does exactly what you need, but if you substitute the sketch line type you will get squiggly linework.

You can set a horizontal cutting plain, to slice off the top of the building.
Then set to view it from the top down.
Then render it using the sketch engine.

The settings I like in the Sketch engine for a fast nice rendering is
"Skyliner" and then set Line style to "pen and ink" and tweak from there.
I turn down the overshoot and make it a little less squiggly.

I like this becuase it gives no shadows or hatching so it's fast and looks like a sketch.

Interesting technique David...gives it that wet marker type of look.
