Check that you don't have selected 'Overhead all' in 'floor plan display'. Or Check in the 'Settings dialogue -> Plan and section' that you don't have fills set up with a transparent background. Excuse my Swedish settings.

If you have a mouse with an extra configurable button, you can configure the button to the reserve keyboard shortcut. So you can do left click to select followed by custom button click to reserve. Maybe it works. Alex
