Tried to access AI assistant and was greeted with the "Oh no....You do not have the necessary permissions (sic) to use the AI Assistant. Contact your system administrator for more information." How does one gain the required "permissions"? Ironically this is the type of question one would normally pose to the AI assistant.

Hi @Quirk,
Thank you for your message!
The AI Assistant is available only for Archicad Collaborate, Studio, and Solo subscription licenses (cloud licenses). If you are using perpetual software key licenses, AI features will not be available. This article provides more information: AI Assistant in Archicad.
I hope this helps.

Hello,
is this a feature that will be available soon also for the perpetual license? I don't find this fair to all the users of Archicad. We purchased a product with full features, this was not mentioned before. It is the same with the AI visualizer.

As someone myself who doesn't really care about these new 'AI' tools they're introducing (because of how clunkily and brain-dead they've been implemented) and who therefore isn't affected by these sort of ming-boggling decisions they're making, I still feel bad for people like yourself now getting short-changed as a result of them trying to force you to switch to subscription.
To me this is just Graphisoft telling you they don't want your money, nor respect you enough to find a better way to convince you to switch to subscription than using tacky tactics like this.
Plan your future accordingly.

Most of the new features that are here and that are coming rely on cloud services and are only available to subscription users. Hopefully you did not just purchase a perpetual licence just before they stopped offering them with the intention of using said features...

quite disappointing - I see no reason for this elimination..

AI isn't free, that's why all the big tech companies are betting billions.
Just updated Sketchup's AI Render addon (equivalent of AI Visualizer) the other day, there's now a monthly limit of 200 'credits' for generation (roughly it looks like one generation = one credit, probably extra credit for sale, somewhere).
I think pretty much every such service will ultimately have a cap and extra tokens for sale, the same as LLM chats have already had for a while.
Still, I think perpetual licenses should obv. have a possibility to purchase the feature also, just the same as you might buy a third party addon like Visoid to do similar stuff. Hopefully also efficient local models will be available to run without much tech expertise, as the technology matures.

Yeah, I was sort of surprised that the option to have them as an addon was not an option when they started revealing the subscription only features. I would have thought that it would be another way to try to convince fence sitters to pick up a subscription.
Just querying an AI chatbot is said to cost 10x what querying google does... and all of these big AI projects are still hemorrhaging billions on this bet.

Hi,
AI is not free, but local and free alternatives exist, and it is important to be aware of them. For AI visualization, you can use “Fooocus,” which is based on stable diffusion and allows you to perform calculations for free and in-house with compatible hardware.
I use “Fooocus” daily because it specializes in image generation.
We are aware that ARCHICAD is not visualization software, but rather “BIM modeling” software, and visualization software has become very accessible and practically free.
I would prefer that Graphisoft focus its efforts on developing basic tools to enable AI to co-control models and co-manage metadata, as well as interact with the drawing environment.
AI Architect Assistant: for model control and advanced conflict detection.
1- For example, checking for collisions between door and window opening arcs and library elements, particularly with regard to local disability accessibility regulations.
2-Detecting polygons in a mesh that exceed a certain percentage in order to design a road correctly and optimize earthwork costs. However, this is impossible because the polygons in the mesh cannot be separated from it (we no longer want to use roofs for this task).
And there are many examples of the limitations of Archicad tools.
It is precisely on these points that we hope Graphisoft will find solutions, For user and For AI,
The more possibilities the tool offers, The more useful AI can be to us.
Thanks
