what's up with Lachmi Khemlani getting the scoop on something called BIMx PRO.

What is it and what is the upgrade path from BIMx Docs?

And here is the official announcement from Graphisoft:

Probably the whole thing boils down to this one sentence:

“By simplifying the license options available and following naming standards in the Appstore, our users will better understand whether to choose the FREE version or the paid PRO version,” said Akos Pfemeter, Vice President, Marketing at GRAPHISOFT. “The best news is that even with paid licenses, the purchase decision boils down to the following, very simple decision: All models on 1 device OR 1 model on all devices — for the same $50,” he added.

Yes. So much more simple. I'm very glad Graphisoft listened to all of us on this one. Now that the pricing is all in the hands of the architect and the time limit is gone, BIMx Pro can really become the tool it always should have been.

I've shared some of my thoughts here:

Less confusing but still:

I had BimX Docs so that means that I have unlimited BIMX models in my devices if I want to share then I need to either do a InApp Purchase or buy another App?

you have BIMx Pro, so your device has access to all models. If you want to share a model with others, you pay $50 and then that model becomes permanently sharable with everyone else, without a time limit.

This is now set up so you as the architect are the only one paying anything. Your clients or the contractors, etc. never need to buy the app or pay anything.

So it is $50 per model that I want to share on a project by project basis? or $50 extra to be able to share any model I want with any client?

and how do they know? Since my workflow is to name the files:
• ProjectXXX_DD_R01
• ProjectXXX_DD_R02, R03 etc
• ProjectXXX_CD_R01
• ProjectXXX_CD_R02, R03 etc.

That means that is per file?

That is a great question! I'm not sure how it knows that a file is just a new version of an old file rather than a new model.

I'm searching around the helpcenter, but don't see anything on it. This feature has been out for a year or so, so I'm sure the answer is somewhere.

ArchiCAD just knows? If you save over the previous file, or merge with it?
