Door & Window drawn schedule - a tip

this is just a note for people who are desperately trying to get properly drawn and dimensioned door and window schedules out of AC.

a workaround that I did not know about since it has been taken out from AC10 but the functionality is back with AC11.

get d/w listed in the schedule, use ctrl+C (copy) (no need to select anything) and paste it in a worksheet or detail window for further editing (exploded into lines and text at scale!). Not really a bi-directional VB approach but at least you can use a sort of semi-automatic procedure for gathering all openings in the schedule in one go for further editing

I have somehow missed out on this feature in AC11 and rediscover it today with a help from GS Budapest. My thanks go there.

Hopefully it will help anybody who is in despair as it did work for me...

We used to generate door/frame types using a similar method, but because the above statement is decidedly not BIM, we abandoned this system.

DWB has a nice way of generating window type elevations, but the results are usually not ideal, and the object needs to be exploded for editing.

I'd like to give Rob's suggestion a try, but for the time being we're generating door/window elevations the old-fashioned way (2D drafting).

It wouldn't be that hard to have ArchiCad output regionspecific schedules if Graphisoft would listen to our wishes.

1. Every standard window / doors should use correct parameters in script
2. Give us an choice in to add a listing script to every object that is allowed to read all headobjects parameters and draw 2d/3d symbols. This 'drawing' that this script output are only visible in a type of element list.
In this script you also set what parameters that would be displayed in the element list besides the drawing.

This way would give us a very much freedom to easy build a office standard how our schedules would look like, and it would also be easy to make a regionspecific standard to standard objects.

Has anyone noticed that the door/window schedules in version 10 don't show the correct handing of the elevation?

Or is it just the version I use?

The 2D view seems correct and the orientaion states one is right hand and the other is left (although to me this is back to front - the "R" window was drawn by clicking on the left of the opening and the "L" was placed by clicking on the right).

Also the 3D front view to me is the back (inside) and the 3D back view seems to be showing the front (outside).
