About model and data exchange with 3rd party solutions: Revit, Solibri, dRofus, Bluebeam, structural analysis solutions, and IFC, BCF and DXF/DWG-based exchange, etc.

How to import Revit, without all elements being converted to objects?

Is it really impossible?

Short answer - no!
There is always gonna be some kind a gap in data exchange since Archicad and Revit are not the same thing. Simply put, they use different logic hence the result can't be the same.
The better question is what are you trying to accomplish?
IFC is the better route to model exchange, of course, this has its own limits, but for coordination purposes its works as intended.

In short conclusion. Don't treat BIM as traditional 2D CAD and their workflow. It will give you hard time.
