Labels Schedule

Hi all

I wanted to create a Schedule for Labels, so we can have a set of Favorites labels, and keep those up to date without having to make the changes manually on each and every label.

Am i clear? i just want a schedule that lists the favorite labels, and change the content from there if it's necessary...

I think it should be possible since the schedules are a "small window" to the data base...

Any ideas or work-arounds to achieve the same thing??

No! But with programming languages these days you can do anything! I dont see this as the end of any percieved inability to GS making it work in some way. If not the LABEL element. Maybe something else. A Object for example.....

I'm now thinking that this LEGEND tool can incorporate hidden custom text fields for more detailed descriptions and other custom text fields for the specification. Propose that custom fields have visibility switches in case you do want to have more elaborate Legends or ability to export more detailed information to specification (word/excel)

Code (visible with Prefix & Suffix shows up in the legend)

Description 1 (visible - brief description that shows up in the legend on drawings)

Description 2 (hidden - detailed for export to a specification)

Custom Fields (hidden - to elaborate on the product used for specifications ie. Location of the product/element or manufacturer etc)

More Custom text fields as per the above according to the needs of documentor

The Code Object that is placed on the plan, elevation, section should have a switch to detect a Building Material or Surface and code accordingly.

Sorry I'm late to this thread guys, but you can schedule labels, or more their parameters!!

When you create an interactive element schedule, do not select an element type!! (I use only a layer criteria)
Then with the fields section of the schedule, use the Add Object Parameters.
Use your folder view to browse down to your label and then away you go!

You had me all excited there Kristian! I thought perhaps we could list the actual values, not just whether they were being called or not. For example if I list the Show Skin List in the Generic Label 19 it just gives me a checkbox, where I'd like to see the actual skin list.

Link there is a very sneaky little work around to that too!
If you make it a component schedule, you can list the cut fill too!
Or you can create parameters that fill out from array values.

The only thing you cant do is get a graphic for legend!

I tried your workaround with AC16 but it doesn't work.
I Tried with AC18 but it doesn't work too ...
I used the built-in-librayr labels (generic label) in both cases

Looking through the generic label, it hasn't been setup to give any usable
data for a schedule.
The key is really writing a label that fills parameters specific for scheduling.

This was just a quick setup with mix of wall, building material, composites and
object parameter fields.
The fields shown - are a wall that do not have a label attached.

The whole reason for using labels is that it is the only way to pass calculations to the schedule fields. This is done by passing GDL variables into parameters of the label (which the label is obtaining from the Elements its referencing) and then using this parameters in the schedule. For example it is possible (through scripting) to split the name of ‘say’ a Building Material and pass the bits of the ‘string’ to different parameters which can then be scheduled separately.
Currently this is impossible with the standard ArchiCAD schedule as far as I know.
It is also possible to carry out calculations within the Labels GDL script and pass the results through to the parameters which can then be scheduled
It really needs these functions to be built into the schedule schemes but until then scheduling labels is needed.
In the schedule below the Multiskin BM Prefix is obtained from the prefix in the name of each Building Material in each skin of each composite wall.
BM of skins are named like this as an example BRWF:Brickwork Faced etc
