Orthograph feedback?

Hi everyone,
we are considering purchasing Orthograph Architect for iPad (http://www.orthograph.net/ortho-eng_product.php?cmd=4) and the Archicad import module (in its affordable version limited to 50 rooms) for Mac.

The presentation videos look great (http://www.orthograph.net/orthograph-products.html) but the reviews on the App store are sort of in-between (3/5 stars).

Has anyone used it?

Thanks!

An alternative to Orthograph could be Redstick Site Cad (http://www.redstickcad.com/), but it does not look as developed as Othograph.

I must admit I'm waiting for the new Microsoft Surface Tablet Pro...I'd love to run a full version of Archicad on a tablet...

As far as I know, there might be other discussions just about that in the forum.

I am asking about Orthograph on iPad, have you ever tried it?

I've posted the same question in other Archicad forums: I cannot find anyone who has tried Orthograph before!

Enrico,
There was an earlier discussion about Orthograph when it first came out here.

I have just purchased redstick sitecad basic, mainly because it was on sale on app store for $12.00NZ. For a basic measure up tool, it works brilliantly, I used it on my andriod phone, was a little small but did the job, will be getting a tablet at some point as I think it would make it alot easier to use. I also like the it can bluetooth to lecia laser devices. The IFC export worked well, sent it via dropbox and it was waiting for me on my desktop when I got back to the office.
There is currently no documentation on how to use it but they are working on producing it at the moment. It was pretty easy to get the hang of, although it did seem to struggle with angled walls, but again I not sure if this is a limitation of the software or a limitation or my knowledge of how to use it.
I guess the best thing about it is that you get a full model that works, no more getting back to the office and finding you have missed a key dimension, or can't read your own hand writing

I had a short email exchange with the guy of Redstick Site Cad a few weeks ago.

The main problem I have with Redstick Site Cad is that it does not allow triangulations yet. We work quite regularly on historic buildings here in Italy, and basically no triangulation means no survey at all. Orthograph 3 allows triangulations.

As far as the direct integration with the disto, even if I had the option, I would probably not use it. In my experience in surveying old buildings, sometimes I have to take the same measure two or three times and guess what the most likely value is.

One more thing I like about Orthograph is that you can take one picture per BIM element (wall, door, window etc.) that you enter. In this way, you can have a lot more notes to remember each element by.

Basically, it seems to me that, as far as development, Orthograph is one generation ahead of Redstick Site Cad.

A limitation that Orthograph has is that the "affordable" version is limited to 50 rooms, but I am sure you can find ways to go around this limit (perhaps, one file per storey?)

Does anyone use this app?
If so is it as good as it looks?
