Custom Label Automatically Turns on Frame with Leader

I have created a custom Ceiling Label, similar to the Archicad Ceiling Label, so that I can use a property with a delimiter expression to hide a portion of the surface name.

All is working fine, EXCEPT, if I turn on the leader in my label the frame appears and I can't toggle it off, it's grayed out.

Any suggestions on how to create the label where it won't show the frame with the leader, or I can toggle the frame on and off?
