Dimensions acting starnge in layout

We are having some issues with dimensions in layout windows on Teamwork project. One team mmeber set up layouts for interior elevations, everything appears correct. Another team member opens layout and all of the windows are sized differently due to dimensions in the views appearing oddly. Some strings are to random points in space. Even if all are selected and updated it is still wrong. You have to open the source view (where all of the dimensions are indeed correct) and ten go back to the layout and update the view again, then they revert to their correct state.

Anyone else getting this. This is a big problem for us as a junior member of the team may be asked to print out drawings and may not notice the mistake.

Yes - that was in version 14.

Some of the dimensions were still off-target and had to be corrected. We made those dimensions static to get them to stick. The only views where we do not make them static are the story views in which they remain associative to its 3D elements.

What did update after saving it out to .pln was the drawing views resuming ability to update from layout sheets (without opening the source view). Whether that was a true work-around or a fluke, I do not know. I'll try to remember to review this again the next time we are due for another entire set print out.

I wish I could've been of more help.

I'm having the same problems with dimensions...

We are getting overwhelmed with this issue.

We have hundreds of drawings on our layouts consisting of dimensions and we need to publish our entire set TODAY. The dimension issue was discovered a few weeks ago and the team had been directed to make them static.

Now we have the inability to update our drawings UNLESS we go to each one, open the source view, close it, and then update before publishing. This is what we are doing to ensure all of our drawings on layout sheets are updated with the source view. In other words, neither the automatic or manual update from layout sheets are functioning correctly.

Try to move the dimensions a bit, and back again. This usually solves the problem, although it is not a proper solution, but its a workaround...

So you are saying that if you go to the Drawing Manager, select all Drawings and click the Update button they do not update?

This issue may have reared it's ugly head here for the first time on AC14 hotfix 3636.

Anyone else still experiencing it?

Actually this has been a problem since about AC12.

I have traced it down so far, as linking a dimension to a core of a composite with multiple cores stacked on top of each other. The key is to relink the dimensions to a static node in the composite and then update the drawing.

Of course often times we need those multiple cores to reflect different levels of the same composite wall, but it would be better to limit the composite to one core only. To my experience I have not encountered any problems with single core walls.

The dimension are perfectly fine on drawing at model space and it also fine to update on layout at the same time.

After closing the archicad and open the file again, the layout are shown all dimension up side down or having extra dimension, etc...

For the time being, I open the source view, close it, and then update before publishing. It won't work to group to update on navigator.

The last project I was using Archicad 12 but I set up the dimension manually. It was okay. Now, I am using Archicad 13 and set the dimension Automatically. the problem was noticed.

Since I have already set up all grid line and dimension, I may try to set up the dimension "manually" instead of "automatically". Not sure if it would work............

Hi all,

My first post, so bear with me if I get the protocal wrong.

We are having a similar, but perhaps worse issue, with dimensions in teamworked V13 files.

Teamworked files w/ associative dimension text are having dimensions randomly jump around in position, change from "EQ" back to dimensioned values and all sorts of other random wierdness. This is occurring across different projects, different computers and different users, but all on teamwork files.

In fact in a test yesterday, 2 different computers showed different values for the 1 dimension (1 showing EQ, the other 1482) at the same time, regardless of how many Send & Receive we did.

Needless to say this is resulting in endless hours of wasted effort on a strict deadline.

We lodged a support ticket yesterday, but a follow-up call today to Graphisoft Australia resulted in the response "Graphisoft have nobody who can assist you". I nearly fell off my chair. Good to see we paid all those thousands of dollars for priority support <insert sarcasm here>.

We're trying setting any problem dimensions to static, but with thousands of dimensions on the job it's a very tedious task, and even if it works will result in far greater work to maintain.

Did anyone get a resolution on this?
