Elevation Dimensions Disappear on layouts?

We have a project in AC25 where we just noticed that a seemingly random set of elevation dimensions go missing, but only on the layout. When we open the source view, all intended dimensions are there, so when we go back to the same layout, the view updates and then they show up. Below are some more facts:

  • Attached photo 1 shows the layout, with 1 of the 3 dimensions missing.
  • Attached photo 2 is after opening the view in a new tab (all 3 dimensions are now there).
  • It's one (1) dimension string.
  • The problem file is teamworked. I couldn't recreate the issue in a .pln.
  • I think I've narrowed down the issue to when the dimension is associated to a 2D object (e.g. steel shape, or wood blocking). Dimensions associated with a 2D element (line, polyline, fill, etc.) are stable.

Very similar to this post here: Dimensions to Hotspots disappear , however we don't use hotspots in S/E.

Is something happening to these 2D objects that is causing the disassociation?

Operating system used: Mac Intel-based 14.7.1 Sonoma

Can I take a guess?  I tried to replicate the issue myself.  I really wasn't able to replicate it, however, the following might have something to do with it, but I couldn't say for sure..

Check the story settings.  Make sure that the middle story callout isn't unchecked.  See attached image...

It could also have something to do with the Section Selection Settings under Story Levels.  Check the Show Story Levels: Display Only or Display & Output.

Good thought, however we almost never use (and didn't use in this case) the story levels that AC can generate automatically, because we usually have at least 3-6 more elements we want to dimension the elevation of (T.O. Beam, T.O. Wall, B.O. Opening, etc.).
