License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

File association to Archicad 10

I can't seem to hook up .pln files to open with a double click in version 10. When I browse to "open with" I can go to the Archicad10.exe file but it doesn't hang on to it.
If I go to the individial file properties, same thing, I can go pick 10 but it doesn't come into the "recommended programs" list so that I can highlight it.
Any suggestions? I'm tired of opening the program and then opening the file, that's an extra step. Thanks.

Sounds like a registry problem. I haven't run into this myself so I'm not sure if there is a quick fix or if it takes a reinstall (nor whether that would do the trick). Does it work to drag and drop the file to an ArchiCAD shortcut or taskbar icon?

That takes me to 1.5 steps. Good progress. Anyone have any registry suggestions, or other?

What does Windows try to open PLN files with, if not Archicad 10?

ArchiCAD 9 I bet.

2 ways I know of: Right click on the file > Open With > Choose Program... > (choose AC10) and check 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file'. Or in Windows Explorer go to Tools > Folder Options > File Types, scroll down to PLN (click in the list and hit the P key a few times) and hit the Change button. This just take you back to the first method though!

Hope there's not more to it than that!

Cheers,
Link.

.
anyway I approach it, through individual files, through folder tools, I can't make 10 stick as the preferred program to open it with. I can browse to it, but it won't bring it to the list of programs to pick.

I kind of meant that for Derek, what HIS machine was trying to use.

Sure, but it is astonishing how many obscure programs use .pln.
