Grid elements are mislabeled in section but appear correctly in plan

I have a grid in plan that is auto labeled and works as needed, however, when I switch to elevation and turn the grid display on the labels all show the same one or two letters for each line. See screenshots below. I also included the grid element settings and the elevation settings for reference. How can I have the grid show up with correct labels in elevation?

Looks like you have a additional grids turned on for your elevation? Ignoring all of the extra G grids it looks fine...

That is the problem- I don't know where those additional grids are coming from. They don't show up anywhere but in the elevation. I made one grid in plan which shows correctly but when I turn it on in elevation settings, it generates all the additional repetitive grids and doesn't show all of my grid lines as shown in plan. 

Have you tried selecting them and using the Select on Floorplan option?
