Is there a way to make the glass material on the glass rail Transparent without changing the transparent settings in the elevation tag? I want the glass in the rails to be transparent so I can see the wall information behind them. I want to keep all the glass windows on the building opaque. (FYI: The opening line you see in this elevation is linework.) see screenshot. Thank you.
Operating system used: Windows 23H2

One way to do this:
Make two different glass materials: one for the window glass and one for the railing glass.
Make the transparancy level in the material of the window glas > 50% and for the railing glass < 50%
Glass
Glass railing:
Other option: put the railing in a layer with wireframe.

Just a small correction:
It is the Railing Glass the Surface of which has to have a Transmittance setting of over 50 (since you want to see through the Railing Glass), not the Door Glass (that needs to have a Surface with a Transmittance setting equal to or below 50 to stay opaque).
By the way, I encountered a small glitch - I am in the Elevation, I modify the Transmittance value of my Glass Surface, I rebuild the Elevation, but the change is not reflected in the Railing Glass Transparency. This is in Ac28. I found if I issue the "Rebuild and Regenerate" command (CRTL+ALT+SHIFT+R), that always guarantees that the Elevation does regenerate and all changes will be reflected in it.

I have observed that behaviour in Archicad 27 too.

Thanks, good to know. I will report this to GS HQ.
