Pen thickness on layout.

Not applicable
Hi everyone,

I have a problem with lines on layout.
My main floor plan is 1:50, but I have it in 1:200 on the layout.
Density of dashed lines etc. is the same as on main plan, but lines are simply too thick. Like it didn't scale their thickness only.
Is there any way of correcting this problem? In the drawing settings on layout I can't change pens, and I wouldn't like to end up changing all lines' thickness one by one in my general settings..

any suggestions?
thanks!

If the drawing does not have paper scale elements (text, etc) then save a new View of the plan at the correct scale (1:200) and place it on the layout.
The other option is to create a new pen set with the adjusted pen weights, and assign it to the drawing. If you select the drawing, open the Drawing Settings, in the Properties Panel > View Drawings own Pen Set... > check Show only pens used to see which pens are used in the drawing, so you only change the used pens in the new pen set.

ok, changing pens and creating my own set - I understand.
But how should I save a new plan with a correct scale? When I change the scale there is a total mess with letters, lines etc.. Could You explain it please?

Are u changing the scale in the 'View Map' or the 'Layout Book'

As if you change it in the 'Layout Book' it just scales the whole thing as one image, but if you change the scale at the 'View Map' just the drawing will scale an all the text will remain the same.

Model Elements (Walls, Slabs, etc) are real world dimensions. Paper Size Elements (Text, Labels, Dimensions, etc) are not real world dimensions, they are sized according to the scale of the drawing when they are placed. When the scale of the drawing is changed, the Model Elements remain the same size, the Paper Size Elements change relative to the Model Elements for the current scale. The simplest method is to set the drawing scale to the desired output scale before adding Paper Size Elements. If this has not been done then there are two options: 1. Change the pen set to conform to the changed scale or 2. Set the correct scale in the drawing and resize and reposition the Paper Size Elements. #1 is less work, but there remains the disconnect between the drawing scale and the output scale. #2 is WYSIWYG.

Hope this helps,
