As I thought.

Just change the drawing tool settings before you place the next drawing.

When you place a drawing it uses the defaults as set in the tool.

Or ALT+click an already placed drawing to set those properties as the tool defaults.

The defaults will remain set (in that file) until you change them again.

So you will need t set the defaults in every file you have, including your template.

Can you post a screen shot of what you want to see?

I am not quite sure what setting you are trying to change.

Simply pre-set the drawing tool settings before you place the drawing, or pickup settings (pipette tool) if you have already placed one.

You are wanting to combine the typical drawing number with the sheet number? So something like S05 on A30 would become A30-S05 on a single line?

Hi Barry,

Of course:

By default views placed on layouts are placed with viewid setting, in my world views should be labeled by layout... currently i have to change every view after placing it.

In my screen grab you can see a newly placed view with no id showing.
