Strange Black Line prints on all layouts

Anonymous
Not applicable
I have been creating a template from the commercial template and thus modified it.

I am running into an issue regarding my layouts as a strange black line keeps on printing and showing up in pdfs always at the bottom left side of a landscape oriented layout.

How can I remove it?

Can you see the line on your layout page before you print as PDF?
You should be able to as the PDF will print only what you see in the layout.

This sounds simple but select the line in the layout and delete it.
If you can't select it then it could be in the Master layout so open that and see if it is there.
Or is it part of a drawing that you have placed on a layout (or in the master).
If so select the drawing frame and right click to 'Open Source View'.
Then find the line and delete it.

No it only shows on printed PDF or a actual print, it seems to be like a watermark of some sort.

It is also imbedded into the file itself somewhere, when you do a 'New & Reset All' file it gets rid of it but I am trying to avoid starting from scratch.

Just to be clear, it shows on a blank layout straight from the master folder or a from a layout with no view placed on it. It is in both Commercial and Residential template files from the USA template.

I tried this on several machines and same thing happened.

It will only show up when you print. It never shows up in ArchiCAD.

Go to the master layout, turn on all layers and then select all elements. There will be something there, perhaps it is a layer or pencolour issue that stops you from spotting it.

Check at "work environment > on screen options" if you aren't using some white pen to override master layout items.

Thanks for the tip but I did try that prior and there is nothing on the layout or master, it is completely blank.

you mentioned a watermark. Did you check the pdf watermark settings?

Yes I looked at the watermark setting and couldn't find anything to remove it.
The only thing that worked so far was to start a 'new & reset all' file.

I've been doing some investigating. I get the weird line as well. It has something to do with the margins. If I change the margins of the Master Layout or the paper in the print setup I can move the line around, a bit.

I could never get rid of it, but did get it to go all the way to the bottom edge of the sheet, so it wouldn't print and would be even less noticeable. No idea why this is happening. Maybe a driver issue or something with the OS?

Ah, I never use margins on our masters. So I've luckily never encountered this weird bug.
