Hi everyone,
My colleague and I have run into a strange issue with the Text tool in Archicad.
I made some annotations for a detail view using the Text tool. On my screen, everything looks correct – the text fits nicely inside its background box.
However, when I send the changes, my colleague sees the text shifted – it appears outside the background box (see attached screenshot).
We are both working on the same Teamwork project. Has anyone experienced this before? Any idea what might be causing the text to display differently on two different machines?
Thanks in advance for any help!

On the machine that is wrong, I would delete that font.
Then copy the font from your good machine and re-install it on the bad one.
Be sure to re-start Archicad.
I am wondering that although you have the 'same' font, it may have been downloaded from a different source?
You could always look at the font properties to see it is the same version.
The same font should behave the same on any machine.
I have Roboto font on my machine, and this is what I see in the preview.

Hi Barry,
Thanks for this, we have check the font versions across the company and indeed we are using 2 different ones.
Thanks for pointing us in the right direction 💪,

Do you both have the same fonts installed?
One see slightly wider than the other when compared to the circles in the fill.
But the text boxes are the same.
Maybe you have a narrow version and you colleague doesn't?
When both of you select the text, id the [font name] in square brackets?
That means you do not have the font installed.

Are you guys using different Archicad versions? Not just 28/29, I mean the same patch. (like 29.1.1 or smth) Maybe just both of you updating to the latest version could fix this inconsistency.
The second thing I would do, is simply to ask your colleague to leave the project and then re-download it. It might help.
Also, is one of you on a german version and another on the int version? (because the textbox settings look differently). It might just be something to do with that.

Hi,
We are all using exactly the same Archicad version: 29.1.0 4006 (just updated today).
However, here is where it gets strange:
I am using the International version.
My colleague with the issue is using the German version.
We have a third colleague who is also using the German version (same 29.1.0 4006), but they see the text correctly – just like I do.
So it seems the problem is not simply "International vs. German." One German version user sees the text as intended, while the other German version user sees it misaligned (text outside the background box).

Allright, cool. So we know it's probably not a font issue, not a patch issue, nor a language version.
Did you also try to leave/rejoin the project?
I have 2 more things that I would check. First is the hardware, like is one of you using a MAC and the other a PC? Knowing this would eliminate a OS inconsistency.
And the last thing I can think of is the Display Scaling, you go in Windows Settings -> Display > Scale and layout. Archicad usually don't really like some scaling settings. 100% works great, while others might cause some weird UI bugs. If you're using a mac, I don't really know the equivalent, but maybe you can check.

Thanks for the suggestions.
To answer your points:
All of us are on Windows – no macOS in the team, so OS inconsistency is not the issue.
Leaving and rejoining the project – my colleague already tried this, but the problem persists.
Display scaling – we checked Windows Settings > Display > Scale and layout. We tried setting it to 100% (and other values), but unfortunately that did not solve the issue either.
So we have ruled out:
Font differences (partially – see below)
Archicad patch version
Language version (International vs. German)
Operating system (all Windows)
Display scaling
Teamwork cache / rejoining the project
Now we have made an additional test:
We compared different font types – Arial, Century, etc. – and they all work fine. The only font that is causing problems is Roboto Condensed Light. Even the rest of the Roboto family (Regular, Bold, etc.) works without any issues. The problem is specifically isolated to Roboto Condensed Light.
My computer:
My colleague:
So the issue seems to be font-specific. The strange part remains: two colleagues with the same German version of Archicad on Windows see the same Roboto Condensed Light text differently – one correctly, one misaligned.
Has anyone experienced similar issues with Roboto Condensed Light in Archicad? Could this be related to how different Windows machines handle this specific font weight or style (e.g., one machine having a corrupted font file, or different font file versions)?
Thanks again for any help.
