Hello,
We are currently working on a floor plan detailing the different types of pavement for a subterrain level. To manage this, we are using Zone Labels to display the information for each pavement type (specifically the height/thickness).
The issue we are facing is with unit display. In the label, all measurements are set to display in meters (m). This works fine for values of 1m or higher, but when the pavement height is under 1 meter (e.g., 0.84 m), the label displays the value with a leading zero and the "m" suffix (e.g., "84 m"). For our documentation, this looks inconsistent and incorrect—we would prefer it to read as "84 cm or 0,84 m".
What we have tried:
As a test, we went to Project Preferences > Dimensions and, under Linear Dimensions, unchecked the "Hide zero wholes" option. While this did solve the display in the Zone Label (it started showing the full value), it created a new problem: now all our dimensions in the project have an extra character or formatting we don't want. It changed the way our standard dimension lines look globally.
So:
Is there a way to separate these two settings?
Keep our standard Dimension Lines displaying meters in the clean, compact way we have them set up (hiding the zero wholes).
Force the Zone Label to display small values (under 1m) in centimeters (cm) instead of meters.
Alternatively, is there a workaround or a specific setting within the Zone Label or Calculation Units that allows us to force it to use cm for small lengths without affecting the rest of the project's dimensions?
Thanks in advance for any insights!
Hector

I guess it all depends on the zone label you are using.
I am only in version 25 at the moments so not sure if 29 is any different.
There should be a setting in the zone label to use Project Preferences or you can force it to be meters.
Something like this.
Project Preferences will simply use those settings as you described.
Setting as meters (m) will obviously show meters, but I am unsure if it still gets the setting for leading zeros from the project preferences.
I don't see a setting in this particular zone label I have open here to control the leading zeros.
So if setting as meters does not work then all I can think is that you will need a custom label so you can control what you want (this will require GDL knowledge).
But I am a little confused.
If you are showing meters as your units everywhere, wouldn't you want to see the leading zero in the dimensions and labels?
I would never want to see what you show in your first image.
Your second image is what I would show for both the dimensions and labels.
Barry.

This would be down to how your Zone Label is scripted. Like in the one I used to use, I have the option to change the Zone Area units to not follow the Dimension Settings. I am assuming the "m" is just a suffix you have inserted rather than something drawn from the actual measurement?

This is Kraut standard. 🇩🇪
Everyone over here is used to it.

Indeed, I work for a German company and it´s the standard over there.
Thanks for the tip!
