detail marker bug? in rotated views

mates,

anyone having trouble getting their detail markers to orient properly when placing them in rotated views?

we have a multi-building project with four buildings on different grids, all documented within a single plan file.

so of course each floor plan's local view is oriented orthogonally to the drawing frame/screen frame.

and the system has been working great until now. we're starting to detail stuff and the detail markers are unable to be placed without rotation relative to orientation (in plan).

more detail:

of the five markers available

- built-in
- indicator 2 ncs 14
- simple 14
- part marker ncs 14
- marker 14

only "built in" and "simple 14" offer the features we want, being a clipping polygon, a stem, and the detail reference in a circle.

interestingly the actual clipping polygon is oriented correctly, its the symbol that's wonky.

so the usual question: are we missing something obvious? or are these objects broken?

with appreciation for your help and information... thanks.

also if I may add the following:

in a rotated orientation, merely dragging any of these five markers will change their rotation settings - weird!

dragging the markers after re-setting the orientation to zero degrees allows them to behave as you might expect when dragging any element - it just moves in the xy plane without a whole bunch of other parameters changing too.

give it a try...

but still... I hope I'm just being stupid and someone can point that out to me so we can get back to work.

As I've mentioned elsewhere I'm not that familiar with the standard parts since I've been making custom ones for myself and my clients for years. I do know from programming them that the mirrored and rotated conditions can be very hard to account for so it is possible that the default markers are bit flaky under some conditions.

ha - matt - if yours work you'll have a very happy paying customer.

We are having the exact same problem. It really is a huge issue as we will not be able to issue CDs with the markers improperly rotated. We're hoping to find an answer soon! If there is a marker that works in rotated views please let me know.

I have been looking into this and it seems to be a problem with the new rotated view feature. It looks like my custom markers will need to be updated to accommodate this. Clearly the default parts are not fully up to date on this yet either. I'll let you all know what I find out.

I've sorted out how to fix this. I will be updating my own custom parts for my clients to accommodate the rotated view. I will be happy to make it available to others for a modest fee. Send me a PM if you are interested. The more who want it the cheaper I can make it for each. (If there is much interest I'll repost in the ads section.)
