Absolutely, I think it's even essential for many agencies that do custom work. A connection with a powerful generative AI would be a real plus. A simple and effective no-code solution.

I'm currently testing basic generation AIs and there are some encouraging results.

Would love it too. Tried out several AI's on GDL so far, but none of them gave me functional code, but they where able to help me understand some parameters on some commmands better. Not complete useless so far for me. But there is much room for "evolution", i think. Yes - work on it- please.

Definitely would be useful. 
Personally I would love it if it worked similar to the AI copilot chat in VSCode, but actually taking the code that you’ve already written and amending that. And showing you the changes it’s made that you can accept or decline each change.  More as a guiding hand, than a completely hands off, do everything for me approach. 
Also the ability for the AI to be able to create parameters too is essential. 
A free plan with reasonable limits would be ideal, to be able give it some really good testing and  justify the cost of a premium cost to yourself of company management. 
Are you thinking built inside Archicad as an API or a standalone application that would build a gsm?

This is such an exciting project, and I'm thrilled to hear you're exploring it! I would love to help and get involved!

I think the biggest leap for a production-ready tool will be moving beyond simple text prompts. Pure text lacks the data depth needed for true BIM components.
A better approach might be to teach the AI to extract and use data from:
* Manufacturer Documentation: Let the model pull dimensions, material specs, and performance data directly from product sheets. This guarantees the "I" (Information) is accurate and production-ready.
* Contextual Standards: Give the user control over Level of Detail (LOD) and preferred layers, pen sets . This ensures the AI-created part instantly complies with office standards.
By prioritizing real-world data extraction and contextual integration, we can build a strategic tool, not just a geometric generator.

Would be good if it was built into Archicad itself and at no cost extra cost to any of us. Particularly the editing of existing GDL coded library objects and to add new useful parameters as needed.

This is the first thing I tested with this Ai tools (copilot, chatgpt, gemini) we just went in circles trying to do a simple table GDL not able to do a proper one, but I guess not far down the road they will be capable of doing this.
