Slab opening subtype

Can the 'Slab Opening' subtype be used in any meaningful way?
I assume it's intended to function similarly to the 'Skylight' subtype.

I'd like to script object for slab niche / slab coffer. I don't want to use SEO.

There was a query about this back in 2004, has there been any update since then?

It is just a placeholder unfortunately, and probably nothing will happen as we have opening tool.
