Hi!
I am currently in need of a "room catalogue" for a project. More specifically, I need to have a dossier with all the different rooms of the project, more in detail than the general plans. So far I can only think about using the "detail" tool and have a detail for each room, si that I can import each one to a different layout, resulting in a collection of details. That will give me the potential to update them if the model ever changes and to also edit them to my needs without affecting the original model. However I am wondering if it is the best way to get to the result I want or if there is a more efficient way.
Thank you in advance for your time and interest!

Armando, not sure if I understand correctly. "Room Catalogue", could that also mean "Unit Plans"? I work on large multi-family projects. For this type of work we have a main building file that hosts the building model. We also have a separate unit plan file that has all the unit plans drawn up in it. We place each unit on its own separate level of the unit plan file. So if you have 30 units you use 30 levels in the file. We then will save each level as a view in the view map and then we will publish each view to a .mod file. Once we have all the unit plans published, we will them import them individually into the main building file, where they need to be located. If we do an update to the unit plans, we republish them and then run an update in the building file. It then automatically updates all the versions of the units in the building file instantly. In our set of plans we have the building plan sheets showing the overall building, and then to have separate unit plan sheets showing the enlarged unit plans so they can be detailed. We import the saved views in the view map from the unit plan file into the unit plan sheets in the building file, so everything schedules and the full set can print when necessary. There is a lot more I can say about all of this, but I hope this is helpful to you. Hopefully this is what you meant as "room catalogue".

Hotlinking using the Iceberg method. Works decently when you have multiple copies of each type and they are single storey. Though if you are just wanting individual rooms, within say a house, for ID purposes this is probably not so suitable, and the Detail option might be the best.

Hi! thank you for your answer, I see what you mean but as you say that might not work in my particular case, detail tool looks maybe easier to implement.
Best regards!
