I am trying to find a solution for the following problem.

We have a 2D display issues with Archicad several times a day. (see screens below)
The only working solution is a reboot of archicad.
Sometimes the 3d windows doesn't display correctly

I have tried to upgrading the graphics card driver and i changing the advanced redraw options. It doesn't work.

The first two screens are 2d display and the last one is 3d display issue.

Looks like a graphic card issue. What version of the driver are you using?

I had something like this a while back.
My Graphics card would get hot and act up.
External fan fixed it until I got around to replacing the card.

I'm using the latest version of the driver. And the case is fitted with two extra fans for cooling so overheating is not a problem. I tested different cards:
  • Nvidia 9800GT
    Nvidia 460GTX
    Nvidia 275GTX
    ATI Radeon HD 4650
    Quadro 1800FX
They all had the same problems.

I'm not convinced about your RAM configuration (10GB)??.
4+4+1+1, 2+2+2+4 ? Try to configure 6 (3×2GB) or 12 (3×4GB) and see if the problem persist.

It's 4+4+2 GB ram. Also tried with 4 and 8 GB memory (Kingston HyperX). It doesn't fix the problem.

Based on some things read at other threads, my question is:
What happens if you turn off the Aero thing in Win7?
Or try to around with its various settings?

We have also tried Windows XP 64 bit and we had the same problem. So I don't think Aero has anything to do with it but we will give it a try.
