ArchiCad running slow since iTunes update

Since iTunes was updated earlier this month, ArchiCad has been running slow (particularly when you select a library object from the toolbar). Apple discussion forums indicate I am not the only one with this problem.

Has anyone found a workaround?

I'm running ArchiCad 9 (2172 Int Full) on a G5 Dual 2G PowerMac (system 10.3.9)

To answer a few of your posts (and thanks for your interest) - The problem is evident on a G5 running 10.3.9 (my other computer running on 10.4.4 is running fine). Looking at other computers, The problem appears to be localised to 10.3.9.

I run Disk Utility once a week (and more frequently if updating software). TechTool Pro 4 is also used regularly.

The iTunes/disk utility issue is remedied by following the info in the Apple Forum announcement

With regard to other posts about this potential issue I came across 2 posts on the Apple Forum whilst searching for assistance with the Disk Utility problem. I have retraced my steps and see they were both posted by the same person "Mollymae":

I hope this clarifies the matter.

The question still remains why ArchiCad is running slow? - but if there are only a few of us with the problem it may be a hard one to track down.

Out of interest, I would like to know how archiben opens more than 1 ArchCad session at the same time? Doesn't it automatically close each solo project when you try to open another?

If you duplicate the "Archicad" executable, you can run as many sessions as you make duplicates.... as long as your machine can handle it.

Or if you use Quicksilver you can use the "Launch Another Copy" option without having to make multiple copies of AC.

I'm not sure the solution for a person already having system problems is to install more questionable software.

It was just a suggestion...
Anyway if he makes multiple copies of the AC executable he has to take in consideration those copies when he runs an updater (erase and duplicate again) so that everything works fine.
