Archicad 17 not extracting

Anonymous
Not applicable
Trying to install 17:

Downloaded from myArchicad both with IE and Chrome
Antivirus disabled
Firewall disabled
running as administrator
Java removed
but nothing happens after the extracting message. Nothing starts - nothing in the specified folder.
Having tried for 10 times. Posted topic to local reseller - no solution - what to do?

Best regards

Can you install it on another computer? If you can, the install file is OK, but there is something with the system.

One thing I would suspect is that some software installed on your computer is not allowing ArchiCAD to access folders it needs to access. Sometimes these are "utility softwares" that come pre-installed with your computer.

I would go and look through the list of installed program and see if there are any programs within them that may interfere with ArchiCAD's attempt to access folder. Some file management program or security program or anti-something program could be the culprit. Of course this is just an idea.

Hi hvid,
I am also trying to installl archicad 17.
I previously had version 15 and uninstalled through the control panel.

I have already done the following:
Java uninstalled
Antivirus disabled
Firewall disabled
Running as the administrator

Nothing happens after extraction
Have you found a solution for this please?

My operating system is Windows 7 (64 bit)
Kind regards
Danny

One workflow that appeared to be helpful in many similar cases:
- uninstall all Java version from the computer
- install the Java version that is compatible with your ArchiCAD version: http://www.graphisoft.com/downloads/java.html
- start the installer and install ArchiCAD
- update to the latest version of Java: http://www.java.com/en/

Keep us updated with any results,

Another thing I have seen only 2 other times: Drag the installer to the root drive (typically C:\) and run it from there. This bypasses any permissions issues you may have in your User profile.

I tried to install v17 educational on an iMac OS10.9.2. The disc image mounts but the installer says "archicad installer is damaged- eject the disc image" I retried the download to no avail.

v17 is good for OS10.6 or later.

Any ideas please?

Bruce, try to disable GateKeeper for a test and mount the dmg after that: http://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/technotes/operating-systems/compatibility-notes-to-archicad-on-os-x...

You might also have an incomplete DMG, check file size and compare it to the information on the website if it does not match you can try using a download manager like this one
