Archicad 28 crashing continuously on start up on standard user account on macOS Sonoma(macOS 14)

Archicad 28 is crashing continuously on macOS Sonoma. The scenario is as under:

1. I installed Archicad 28 Technology Preview, side by side with Archicad 27. Both were working fine.

2. I uninstalled Archicad 28 Technology Preview and Archicad 27, once Archicad 28 was released yesterday. I also deleted all the files from Library folder, pertaining to both.

3. I installed Archicad 28 and downloaded the licence file.

4. Archicad 28 was working fine on my Admin account of Mac, but was crashing continuously on start up when opening on Standard user account of my Mac.

5. I created new standard user and tried to open Archicad 28 on it. But it was crashing in that newly created standard user account also.

6. I uninstalled Archicad 28 and reinstalled it several times. But it was crashing continuously.

7. I reinstalled Archicad 27 again and to my surprise, Archicad 28 started functioning again on standard user account also on my mac.

8. I have submitted all the bug reports. Right now, Archicad 28 is working fine, but I have to keep Archicad 27 side by side.

pl. Let us know, if I have done anything wrong, while installing Archicad 28, or let me know, if this is a bug.

Operating system used: Mac Apple Silicon macOS 14

28 is slow and buggy.  It was not ready to be released.    I went back to 27.   I am tired of giving money to Graphisoft for substandard products.

I confirm, 3d in 28 works horrible on PC workstation CPU i7 8700 and RTX 360 graphic card,  but greate on laptop DELL 7800 with  i7 4800HQ and K4100m graphic card. First one is more powerful but unusable.

I completely agree. In simple drawings, it may jam and work with a delay. Working with underdrawing is a nightmare...

I clean installed macOS Sequoia. Then installed Archicad 28. Again, to my surprise, Archicad 28 is continuously crashing for Standard Users. Users with Administrative privilege are able to use Archicad 28 without any problem.

This has made Archicad 28 totally unusable for me. I had submitted the bug reports before one month and this time also. If anyone from Graphisoft is listening please help me solving the issue. Pl. treat this matter as most urgent.

I know nothing about Mac OS, so I should probably stay out of this post.

But what I want to say is, Archicad will read and write files to various locations.

The Archicad program folder and also folders in user profiles.

It is working fine for administrators because they will have read/write access to everything.

Make sure your standard users have the same administrator privileges to any folders involving Archicad.

Versions 6.5 to 27
i7-10700 @ 2.9Ghz, 32GB ram, GeForce RTX 2060 (6GB), Windows 10
Lenovo Thinkpad - i7-1270P 2.20 GHz, 32GB RAM, Nvidia T550, Windows 11

Thank you very much for your guidance.

I tried to give read write access to the standard user & also full access to Archicad Application. However, my efforts were in vein.

Though the reasoning you have provided is absolutely logical, I am missing granting some more permissions to the standard user. However, all other CAD applications are running fine without any issue for any standard users.

It is very unfortunate that even after almost one month, after submitting all the bug reports, that this problem is not solved. I have tried all the possible way that I could. However, it is still not resolved and I am not able to use Archicad 28 at all.

Even though, after contacting local resellers here, it has not be resolved. I am really disappointed by the support system.

Hello everyone,
Yesterday I formatted and performed a clean installation of macOS Sonoma on my 27-inch Retina Intel-based iMac. Afterward, I downloaded both Archicad 28 and Archicad 27 on this computer. I followed the steps on Sonoma and granted full access to these applications. However, when I try to open a new file, both Archicad 28 and 27 crash immediately.

Here is the crash ID: AC28-2024-11-29-09-07-39-5069.

I hope to have a solution to this issue soon. Thank you!
