Archicad 28 update - magic wand shortcut disappeared

Good morning guys,

I got back to using Archicad 28, education version after a while and when suggested for an update I immediately did it and somehow the magic wand shortcut doesn't work anymore. I have checked the knowledge base and Googleed it: all steps suggested didn't work. Am I supposed to roll back to the previous version now?

Thanks,

Pao

Can you show a screenshot of the situation? It could give us clues as to what might be wrong.

For example, when the "Snap to Construction Grid" option is activated, Magic Wand (pressing they SPACE key) may not be able to find the edges of elements because it is finding only points that are on the Construction Grid.

Here is a screen grab. The problem seems to be with the actual file as if I start a new file the shortcut works. I have checked multiple time and re set the same work environments and profile: I am using the same in both instances. I will try and copy everything on a fresh file and now it works. Would it be possible to understand what went wrong?

Thanks

P

Have you tried the "Open & Repair selected file" option when opening the file?

Sometimes, things can get corrupted in files, maybe there was some data corruption when there was an Archicad crash or something similar happened. Hopefully the above option will fix it.

If not, then merging your project into a new file sounds like the best way moving forward because that will eliminate any other possible thing that might be wrong with the current file.

Thank you very much for the help. I tried "Open and repair" but it didn't work either, I guess the file has been corrupted somehow. I have transferred everything into a new file and so far all the shortcuts are working.
