BIMcloud and License Manager Tool for Apple Silicon

blgp

Hi there

Since at least most may work with a native Mac version for Apple Silicon (we are unfortunately still eagerly waiting for the CH version) and we have a new server coming, a question about native versions:
Is there already somewhere a native Apple Silicon version of the following two products:
- BIMcloud
- License Manager Tool

The License Manager Tool ist not that important, could also be used on an old computer. But the BIMcloud would be important. We want to set up a new server without Rosetta.

Unfortunately I didn't found any informations from Graphisoft (neither IDC knows anything) and hope for some Informations on this way.

Thanks!

Hi,

In my opinion it won't happen for some time, since Apple do not have dedicated hardware for servers.
Also it is not optimized to create a server on a computer which harddrive is sothered to motherboard... it has to run 24/7 hours which will put into risk of rapid wear and tear.

Best
Karol

OPENBIM does works!
ArchiCAD 22/23/24/25/26/27 INT &POL

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 128GB RAM, GeForce RTX 3070, Windows 11 Pro
MBP 14 M3 Max 16C/40G, 128GB, 2TB

Also, what is the size of your projects and how many users do you have?
I run my BIMcloud on Mac Mini 2012, I recently exchange harddrives to SSDs - works like a charm, still can't believe that 😎😅.

We got 15 users who connects to the BIMcloud and actually he runs on a Mac mini 2012 and that one has still a lot of free resources. So I think that the Mac Mini or the Mac Studio is great for our office and the SSD with 8 TB is enough.

Otherwise there wouldn't be a BIMcloud for OS X. 😉

Hope for a release soon! 😬

Fingers crossed!

Then I might invest myself... 😋

But yes, it seems Licence manager tool is a problem

Someone uses Licence manager tool on silicon ?

Alex

I use software license - getting download/upload daily on M1 Max. No issues.

The license manager tool could be used on an old computer with intel inside. But in one or two years a native version will be necessary.

Apparently, no one has any information about a native BimCloud version yet, unfortunately.
Would be nice to get an official statement here.

...ok ... it seems the behavior of licence manager tool and code meter extension are "strange" on my Mac...  I'll double check it but it seems you're right...

Sorry

I've hat problems with Codemeter Version 7.51. With Version 7.40 (and now with 7.60) everything works fine.

Both (License Tool and BIMcloud) work fine with Rosetta. But we would like a clean install without Rosetta 😎
