Select a roof.

Command-click (Mac) or Control-click (Windows) on the edges of other roofs to be joined to it.

Do you need to be in a particular view, i.e., floor plan or elevation or 3D??

What view do you have to be in to perform this operation?

It works in both Plan and 3D views. You can see the action better in 3D, but sometimes it is easier in plan.

ok... was able to join roofs but now the main roof surface and one of the intersecting roof surfaces are not showing. Do I have to reconstruct those roof planes again?
A screenshot would help.

Easiest in the 3D window.

Be sure that the roof tool is active. Select one plane, CTRL click on the EDGE of the other roof plane that, if translated along the top surface of the roof, would intersect the selected one.

Duh ... the screen shot is much easier
