Mighty Mouse confusion

My new wired Apple Mighty Mouse does not do any mighty tricks (e.g. dynamic zooming with scroll pea) in ArchiCAD 9, Mac OSX 10.4.7.

I bought the thing because one of my employees, now moved on, was using one with the same hardware/software setup (although probably a few increments earlier on the OS). He was panning and zooming with glee. It looked like he was using a video game (or AutoCAD on a PC!!).

Talking with him, he can't recall any special configuration was required.

Should I just be able to plug this thing in and get the behaviour I want? Do I need to disable some of the system-wide mouse settings?

Mine is working just fine. Here are my settings...

And you have to be sure, that you have installed the latest version of ArchiCAD 9.0 (i think this will be build 2219).

Edit:

Oh, and i think, there might be a problem with MacOS X 10.3.
