Problems with Video Display on a new Aluminum iMac

I have had this happen on two different IMacs and only when we run AC 11.

It seems to be triggered by Itunes running at the same time.

Has anyone else witnessed this before? Any suggestions?

Apple knows there is a quicktime and video card driver problem, for most users it is being reflected on Safari and viewing Movies since I am guessing that most of them are not AC users.

AC uses quicktime (I guess) + is more processor intensive than either Safari or watching Movies so there might be a correlation.

So Apple is working on a solution to video problems and that Might fix the AC problem, this is a lot of hope an a big guess.

Hi Thomas, if you meant me: I am not a Graphisoft employee.
However, I know that GS employees are monitoring the list and get info about issues so this will definitely get to them.

Just popped up, there's a Leopard Graphics Update in software update. Pretty sure it's new.

Is it different than this one from February?

Sounds like I said something bad? English isn't my native tongue. I apologize if I hurt anyone. No offence meant! It was careless of me to post like I did, but I did mean a specific person, and I also know he got the message. GS are investigating this issue.

Problem is they can't do much since the culprit is ATI and to some degree Apple. They can help sound the alarm, and they can check if Archicad puts an abnormal stress on OGL, which I don't think it does. The rest is up to the As.

"Burn" is what they said on the American television show "That 70's Show" when one of the cast made a stinging observation about another.
More like a tease, really.

I am over sensitive to these comments since my mechanic friend has brought his vintage sports car out of storage yet again, and the brake lines are corroded and will probably take until August to fix, basically ruining the car for the warm months. And last year it was the rotors and the year before, the differential.

I asked him "When do you think that you will get a car that works?"
His feelings were hurt.

OK. Besides, I think laszlonagy left GS on his own initiative.

I can confirm that this seems to be a driver bug that plagues different types of ATI cards. The problem is rooted in 3D OpenGL, but the symptoms may occur later, when you have already left the 3D window. Nevertheless, disabling hardware acceleration in 3D seems to fix the problem. To do this, go to 3D windows settings, click the "Options" button (only active if OpenGL 3D engine is selected) and tick "Ignore hardware acceleration in 3D".
