i have a set of stairs that go up over a closet and i need to hide the stairs under the closet so that that section of the stairs does not show up in the plot of the floor plan. is this possible?

i also have a garage door that will not show up in the elevation untill i pull up the settings palette and then click ok. what have i done wrong? it never shows up when i publish to plotmaker either. i end up having to publish it by itself after everything else is finished and go through the process that i just described.

Jeremy:

When I have this situation I add an Empty Fill over the area I need to mask, then send the stair to back and the other elements to front to get the display order I need. The Empty Fill I use has a white (pen 91) background.

Hope this helps.

Cant you use storey sensitive to show break lines. These can be adjusted by editing the stair.

I am not sure how this process is carried out. Can you give more info?

select the stairs- - open settings and the first parameter is called storey sensitive. Select that and the stairs will only go up to the break lines.
if you want to edit the break lines you have to select the stair and go to file>GDL objects>open object and the break lines can be grabbed inthe corners and moved.

You may need to change the 'symbol type' to 'bottom only' if that is available in your actual stair object.
