Text not showing in text boxes

I just installed AC27 INT SOLO (updated to 4031) but have an issue with text boxes

I can see the text box but can't see any text.  I tried with different fonts, including Arial and other standard fonts, large size and so on

If I double click to edit, the text appears.  If I click away to finish the text disappears again.

Did a search but can't find anything on this so it much be something on my end?

The text pen colour is different to your screen background?

Make sure there ar no Graphic Overrides or Renovation Filters active.

In your operating system settings, do you have your screen scaling set to something other than 100% ?

If you can see the text box handles, it can't be the layer that is turned off.

So you can't see any text at all in your plan?

Can you show a screen capture image?

Images show text input and then empty text box.  Will reboot now just in case...

What happens if you turn the text background fill off?

tried rebooting (was a new installation), starting a new scene with default template and work environment but still the same

I had the same issue. Removing the . reg folder solved it.

Apparently AC removed the Legacy txt enginge on 27.

thanks - that was it

however that makes my favourite font unusable (it no longer wraps)

also the line rendering in AC27 is still as bad as AC26 and it still needs the registry fix to make things look good

How do you apply the .reg fix for AC27 then? I had to disable it to get my text back, haven't had any problems with my font (Open Sans), but it's always good to know a possible solution.

this is life-changing, thank you so much! I reported this issue during the beta testing and was told that it was a GPU issue, there was nothing that the developers can do. Well, they're wrong 😄
