!!!URGENT!!! trouble updating archicad 10 student version!!!

hi i have archicad 10 student version, i have just downloaded from the website the latest update "hotfix build 1188" but after i install it and try opening archicad but an error dialogue pops up, it says something about unable to locate input location
"?SetWGStatus@WriteInfo@VBUtil@@QAEXD@Z" and something about VBUtils.dll

i have tried installing and redownloading several times but the same error pops up!!and archicad doe not open up

i have never updated my archicad 10 before, do i supposed to update older patches 1st??
what do i do??
my asignment is due next monday please help!!!

First, no need to triple post.

Second, verify that you have downloaded the correct version

Third, try reinstalling from scratch, verify that you have administrator privileges and AC is closed. Uninstall AC and make sure that you remove the folder from "Program Files" then do a restart. If everything fails download the student version of AC11 and install it to see if it works.

Third, please put your system info in your signature. For example AC10 is not recommended for Vista.

Last, even though it seems that the end of the world putting URGENT in front of your post does not make it more urgent. In combination with the triple post it makes it more unlikely that your problem will be taken seriously.

1. i use windows XP
2. my archicad 10 student version was supplied by CD by the course im taking
3. i have reinstalled from scratch several times but its still coming up with the same error

i say its urgent because im graduating my course in a week and i need my asignment done brfore monday for my exhibition hence it is urgent...im sure other students in the same situation as me would think the same...

the patch was found via my archicad program through the "check for update" menu so im pretty sure that it would be the correct patch. ive also followed all the instructions for the update on the website but it just does not seem to work....any other ideas?
