3DS import - 2d Symbol creation

Hi to all,
does it exist a way to skip the creation of the 2D contours when importing a 3DS file into Archicad?
I noticed that often the most of the weight (in terms of usability of the object itself)) is the 2D symbol and the creation of it.
If not, please GS People take it a suggestion, very easy to implement (just to skip).
