Refer to the ArchiCAD Help guide in the Help menu of your current AC14. Search for "Migrating Libraries and Objects to ArchiCAD 14".
Essentially the process entails 1) Opening your AC12 project 2) Load the newest library (14 or 15 when it is released) 3) Delete the older libraries 4) ArchiCAD will automatically load the relevant migration libraries.
Also, this area of the wiki may help you find more information about migrating projects : http://www.archicadwiki.com/CategoryMigration

Actually it is exactly the problems with migration between versions that makes D&W builder attractive. IT does facilitate a cross version upgrade without the corruptions we were seeing with GS parts.
I've posted on this before and believe GS really need to think different on this one as their approach so far doesn't work well - esp with the yearly upgrade we have now.
