Define Symbol Linetype

I want to create a symbol linetype in a GDL script, but the GDL manual is a bit sparse on the nature of the Macro. Can anyone post an example, preferably commented, for me to see how to do this, please?

I think I have it now. The sizes inside the macro do not have any effect. Just the proportion. The maximum drawn or the the realtion a/b will be brought to the unique size 1. The scaling factor makes the width.
The gap is the real distance between each symbol and not the repeating distance.
Oh man, a bit complicated and well explained. And obvisiously not really needed. 😉
