Object Needed - Or advise on where to start building

There is one object that I would find very useful in all things from furniture to buildings - it's like this
Its a basic block, where you can specify height, length and width, so it could look like a wall or a slab. Pretty straightforward stuff...
BUT...All twelve edges (arrises) can be set to be either rounded or chamfered to a user-defined radius.
I'm guessing that this would be a really simple object to code, but would lend realism to a LOT of internal and close-up views, where super sharp edges just don't look like the real world.
If anyone has such a library part, then I would be incredibly grateful to borrow it. Otherwise I'll buy the cookbook and have one to share - in about 6 months!
