Save Custom-Shape Doors or Windows - Cut Non-Perpendicular Holes in Walls

Guys,

I am trying to figure out saving a custom-shape widnow with non-perpendicular holes in wall.

I used a single plane pitched roof and assigned 'Wallhole' to its ID.

After rounds of trial and error, still no luck.

If you folks have done this before, please shed me some light tell me the correct workflow.

Thank you very much in advance.

You can use roofs to create the door frame/leaf and they can have angled edges.

Similar to Heimo's tapered morph.

But creating a roof and giving it an ID of WALLHOLE, does not create a wallhole in my experimenting.

Only a slab seems to do that.

You can angle the edges of a slab but it will still only create a regular wallhole with edges perpendicular to the wall (opening).

So I think the only solution is GDL.

I think this is only possible in gdl.

Though in GDL you do not work with "slabs" or "roofs", so the guide seems to suggest that saving out of the floorplan should be possible, but since even Heimo did a scuffed workaround, maybe a typo?

Thank you, Barry.

Correct, either slabs or roofs can create the door frame, leaf or windows in perpendicular wall holes.

It seems to me that, Heimo's morph still cut the perpendicular wall holes.

Looks like GDL is the way to go.
